Caribbean Epis-Marinated Grilled Chicken

A juicy, flavor-packed chicken recipe using our handcrafted Caribbean Epis. This dish is perfect for lunch, dinner, or weekend cookouts — smoky, herby, and full of island flavor.

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken (cut into pieces) or 2 lbs chicken thighs

  • 3–4 tablespoons Epis (Green Seasoning / Sofrito)

  • 1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon oil (optional, for grilling)

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Clean & Prep Chicken
Rinse chicken with water and a splash of lime or vinegar. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. Marinate with Epis
In a large bowl, coat the chicken pieces with Epis, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Mix well so every piece is fully coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is even better).

  3. Grill or Bake

    • Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high. Lightly oil the grates and grill chicken for about 6–7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.

    • Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place chicken on a lined baking tray and roast for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  4. Serve & Enjoy
Serve hot with rice and beans, fried plantains, or fresh salad for a complete Caribbean meal!

🔥 Tips:

  • Add Scotch bonnet pepper to the Epis before marinating if you like it spicy.

  • Save leftover cooked chicken for sandwiches, tacos, or wraps!
